Rob Liefeld is a comic book creator from the United States. His biggest claim to fame was in the '90s when he created 'The new mutants' as well as 'x-force'. He played a large hand in MARVEL but also is known for being one of the founders of 'image comics'.
A big talking point of the creator is how over dramatic his art style is by giving characters huge weapons and pouches and in Captain America's case a comically large chest. Despite making many beloved characters he has been heavily criticized for drawing poor anatomy making characters look freakishly bad. He's even been the expense of a joke in a film of one of his creations. Ultimately, It was the style of his time, but it is fair to say it has not aged well creating characters with grotesque blow up muscles. Out of most comic book artists Liefield certainly showed himself to be the best at over saturating and impossible character figures. It has even got the point where the creator himself made a parody character of his character types by creating 'the pouch'.
However Liefeld played a strong role in creating anti-heroes with his best being them. An anti-hero is a character who lacks tropes shown in regular heroes. He was known for making some of the classic hero tropes along with his friend Todd Mcfarlane.
I chose Liefeld because i like the content he produces. His art style is something which i don't care for too much but I like the characters he has made and the stories he has told. His style does not appeal to me but never the less it is certainly an intriguing one to analyze.
