With the production phase done and dusted like the pre-production part my group and I had to present our work to our lecturers.
In terms of participation I acted the most in this being the main actor with other members of the group all taking on acting roles. The acting part had its complications in remembering the script and staying in character but we all succeeded in acquiring the shots needed to make this with some additional shots also being included. With this part I learnt how to solve problems from any issue that came from the day where there was many of them but i managed to handle them.
Also during the presentation I was able to show the beginnings of the news shots creating the templates for them. I'm also in charge of music but at the time i only had ideas surrounding the topic.
Overall, everyone has played a huge role in this project, regardless of if someone doesn't have work to show as behind the scenes is where most of the work has been and I'm proud of my group.
TTrello is a website that was introduced to the group as a means of project organisation where you outline roles and set tasks for completion. This was such a useful tool it made the Gantt chart I created obsolete. I am much happier using Trello and even though it was intended that we should use both there was no need for the Gantt chart. In addition to this another driving factor were SCRUM meetings. The creators of this principle define it as follows "A framework within which people can address complex adaptive problems, while productively and creatively delivering products of the highest possible value".These are brief 15 minute gatherings where me and my associates would give outlines on the objectives we wanted to complete by the end of the day. Holding them daily was a strong driving factor between the group as if there were any issues they could be brought up as well as the constant outlining of what we were doing drove each other to succeed making us a strong group. Another method that ties in to the synoptic project is the AGILE manifesto prompts 4 key values on top of 12 principles that the authors believe software develops should use to structure themselves. The 12 principles are linked below. The methodology for Agile is something our group did not follow as its designed for a different purpose though can still be applied having Scrum meetings worked far better. Though some elements of Agile where brought in to our scrum meetings without realisation. Agile itself insists of many iterations which are single development cycles. This directly correlates to the synoptic project as when we would have our scum meetings we would discuss singular shots and their progress as we built up to a final cut. Additionally, like the the agile project management system, this was done in case any member was having difficulties in what they were doing. When doing scrum meetings there are intended to be 3 groups that are a part of it being the product owner, the development team and the scrum master. This also applies to me and the synoptic project with the product owner being the brief for the synoptic project and Next gen, The scrum masters would represent the lecturers with the development being my group and I.
